Good morning everyone,

On behalf of Councilor Mejia, we wanted to thank each and every one of you for your help in getting us to where we are today. Last Wednesday we unanimously passed An Ordinance to Establish a Commission on Black Men and Boys in the City Council.

This Wednesday, September 22 at 11am, Mayor Janey will be signing the ordinance into law in the Eagle Room of City Hall. We would greatly appreciate it if each of you could be there to help celebrate this historical moment. In advance of the Mayor’s signing, we will be holding a small reception in the mezzanine of City Hall (up the stairs from the main entrance) where we will be celebrating with food, beverages, and (most importantly) with each other! I will be sending out a calendar invite for Wednesday at 10am to each of you, but in advance of that I wanted to send along this formal invitation to not only thank you but to ensure that the community is front and center in this moment.

Best wishes,

Jacob deBlecourt
